Prayer List
People are placed on the prayer list if the church is notified of the need for prayer. The list of prayer concerns may be accessed by either calling 601.956.2122 to hear the recorded prayer list or by receiving a prayer list updated via your email account. After obtaining the list, then you pray.
Cancer Prayer Partners & Support
A volunteer is matched to a cancer patient to pray with them through treatment and recovery for one-on-one support. Volunteers need sensitivity and compassion for these unique issues.
Hedge Prayer
Each Sunday, volunteers go to the Prayer Room and pray for the pastors and congregation during the worship service, covering every aspect of the service with a “Hedge” of protection thru prayer. The commitment is for one month per year, 30 minutes during the worship service. The worship bulletin is a guide for your prayer.
Prayer for Engaged & Newlywed Couples
A volunteer is matched with a couple to pray for them through their engagement, wedding and first year of marriage. This ministry seeks to offer support and encouragement during this hectic and special time in their lives.
Prayer for Graduates
Each interested high school graduate will be assigned a volunteer who will pray daily for the graduate for one year. Cards and other support are optional.
Prayer Room Ministry
Volunteers commit to a special hour each week when they will come to the Prayer Room to pray for the requests that have been submitted during the week. Postcards are sent on behalf of the church to those prayed for to make them aware of the prayers, including any scripture that might encourage them.
Prayers During Pregnancy
If you or someone you know is pregnant, please contact Mandy Anderson, CUMC Prayers During Pregnancy Coordinator, at
mtweety15@live.com or 850-529-3773 with their name and we will assign them a prayer partner. This partner will pray for the parents and baby throughout the pregnancy and birth of the child.
Prayers & Squares Quilts
Quilts are hung in the prayer room. A knot is tied in the threads on the quilt to represent a prayer you have made. When all threads are knotted, the quilt is presented to the recipient who is literally “covered in prayer”. To request a quilt, fill out the request card in the prayer box beside the prayer room. See
www.prayerquilts.org for information on the national organization.
Prayer Walkers
Volunteers pray as they walk/run in the mall or their own neighborhood. An individual prays for the families in the homes they pass or for people they pass in the mall.
Prayers for Christ Church
We pray an umbrella of prayer over our ministers, staff, congregation, and ministries of our church.
Prayer for Missionaries
Volunteers pray for missionaries supported by CUMC and leaders have periodic contact with them to determine their current needs and to let them know they are being supported in prayer.
Hannah's Prayer
